Paradiso, Weteringschans 6
Paradiso is a very popular music venue, concert hall and nighclub. Its reputation is long-standing and play host to international bands but also local artists. World famous musicians, such as Lady Gaga, Pink Floyd and Pretty Things have also played in the Main Hall. Paradiso I a place for everyone from lovers of electric, rock, folk, soul to country, reggae and blues. The concert hall specializes in alternative music and with a capacity of 1500 people, which is no wonder as the building used to be a church. If you like a smaller crowd go upstairs to the Small Hall, a venue for emerging artists. With a capacity of 250 it is advised to book ahead.

Melkweg, Lijnbaansgracht 234A
Housed in an abandoned dairy, Melkweg, Milky Way, is famous its multi-purpose venue and famous for its mix of experimental and classical. Spice up your night at Melkweg, where music is an art. With two halls, a cinema, a theatre and a café you are sure to find something to your liking. The minimum age for most night programmes is 16. It is worthwhile having a Melkweg membership card which allows discounts on club nights and pre-sale advantages for concerts

Sugarfactory, Lijnbaansgracht 238
Leave the day behind the second you step into Sugarfactory, the perfect place to let your hair down and dance till dawn. Sugarfactory is a platform for live bands, singers, songwriters and other upcoming talents. The Sugarfactory program changes frequently. Arrive early for theater, cabaret, live-music and poetry performances and join the dance floor afterwards. There is an entrance fee but drinks are relatively inexpensive. Sugarfactory is a happy blend of night theater and nightlife.

Jimmy Woo, Chicago Social Club, Paradiso and Melkweg are located close to Leidseplein. Another dance club Sugar Factory is also close to Leidseplein. This lively square is at the bottom of Leidsestraat and a transport hub. Leidseplein nightlife is famous as many music venues are nearby as well as pubs and café. The Stadsschouwburg, City Theatre, provides classy entertainment. Amsterdam is famous for its night life clubbing and pub crawls.
