Amsterdam City Card

The Amsterdam City Card provides free entry and discounts to over 70 attractions in and around Amsterdam as well as free use of city public transport. There are over 40 museums and attractions in the city which offer free entry to Amsterdam City Card holders and 15 museums outside Amsterdam. The Amsterdam City Card is valid for valid for 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 days at a different price.

How to use the Amsterdam City Card

The card has a dual function and has two chips one for free entrance to museums and attractions and one for public transport.

The card will be activated on the first visit to a museum or attraction and will remain valid for the period you have selected i.e. 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 days. On each visit to a museum or attraction you scan your card. You will have to prebook a time slot for major museums and attraction likes Rijksmuseum.

Your transport chip is activated on first use. Remember always to check in and check out of your journey at the card readers in tram, bus and metro. Your card remains active for the period you have chosen.
